I chose the name 'october17design' because my birthday is on the 17th of October. I thought it would be fun to incorporate something personal into my web design portfolio and personal web presence.

So, like I said on the front page, I've been designing websites and print materials for friends and small businesses for several years. In that time, I've met some really great people and have learned a lot about the many needs of a business owner or an individual with a portfolio of services to offer the public.

In regards to web technology, I stick with what I know to work in the past. The internet is amazing in that what worked then still works extremely well even now. I use JavaScript in lieu of flash in order to add that little extra into a site when it is needed. I also use CSS for adding a bit of style to text, but prefer to use tables for a layout.

With regard to print works, I've been comissioned to design massive promotional event posters, admission tickets, back-stage-passes, and business cards. I do thoroughly enjoy the process and take personal enjoyment when my clients are pleased with my work.
